About

Marissa (she/they) is a psychotherapist and consultant practicing in Cleveland Heights.  In 2007 they received a BA in philosophy and political science from John Carroll University. After several years of working for local nonprofit organizations in fundraising and stewardship, Marissa changed careers to join the helping professions. 

 

Marissa's graduate training and licensure is in clinical mental health counseling at Cleveland State University (CSU) and the Gestalt Training Program (GTP XVIII) at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland. She recently completed a certificate program in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) through Fluence Training based in NY and offer individual and group KAP work.​

 

One of their passions is to expand clinical competencies for marginalized populations and as a result Marissa teaches graduate students as well as provides continuing education workshops and trainings on supporting LGBTQ clients to local agencies, organizations, and academic institutions. 

 

​A native Ohioan, Marissa enjoys being and foraging in nature and spending time with family and furry loved ones.
